Installed to Grade I
A batt only delivers its rated R-value when it fills the cavity completely: no gaps at the top and bottom plates, no compression behind wiring, and clean cuts around boxes and pipes. We split batts around wiring and cut them to fit, the way RESNET Grade I installation describes.
Walls, ceilings and floors
We install faced and unfaced fiberglass batts in exterior walls, interior sound walls, vaulted and flat ceilings, and floors over garages, porches and crawl spaces, with supports so floor batts stay tight to the subfloor.
Before the inspection
On new construction and additions, insulation is usually inspected before drywall. We schedule the install so it is ready for the insulation inspection and the drywall crew.
Pair with air sealing
Batts do not stop air leakage. We can foam the top and bottom plates, penetrations and window rough openings first for a tighter house.

Questions about batt insulation
Faced or unfaced?
It depends on the assembly and the local code. In our hot-humid climate, interior-side vapor barriers are generally not wanted on exterior walls, so we will match the facing to the wall design.
Can you insulate just my addition or remodel?
Yes. Additions, garage conversions and single-room remodels are common batt jobs.
